University of Perpetual Help System Dalta clinched the last play-in spot with a 63-60 win over Emilio Aguinaldo College Friday in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

The Generals, who never led, tried to send the game into overtime but Kriss Gurtiza’s triple at the buzzer missed the mark in the league’s first game with the fans in the stands.

The NCAA will continue to have spectators at the San Juan arena in the play-in and Final Four stage.

Making modest strides under first-year coach Myk Saguiguit, the Altas finished the eliminations with a 4-5 card in fifth place.

Perpetual will take on No. 6 Arellano University in a do-or-die match at 3 p.m. on Sunday, with the winner playing against the loser of the duel between the No. 3 and 4 squads for the last Final Four berth.
