A new day is always a perfect opportunity to take up new hobbies and start a new goal. With sports and healthy living emphasized now more than ever, it is paramount to have an environment that nourishes wellness. In line with this, Ayala Land reopened its sports facility located in Vermosa, the company’s estate in the South. Athletes and wellness enthusiasts seeking to enrich their health are welcome to experience the training needed to lead an active and well-rounded life.

The sprawling Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub

Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub (AVSH) provides access to state-of-the-art technology and equipment for national athletes and people leaning towards achieving a healthier lifestyle. It is also a premier training ground for athletes, including the Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association athletes who are gearing to bag medals at the 2022 Southeast Asian Games to be held at Hanoi, Vietnam in May and Triathletes.

Training at the Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub

Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub is located within Ayala Land’s sprawling 750-hectare estate in Imus, Cavite that brings together residential, retail, and office spaces– the Vermosa Estate. AVSH highlights an active lifestyle by offering athletes a number of sports facilities and wellness amenities including the nine-lane 400-meter track and field oval, football field, Olympic-size lap pool, sports science laboratory, and green open spaces. Athletes can also stop by the Mini Store, which is located at the reception area of the AVSH for refreshments and other basic needs. To complement the athletes and its visitors’ active lifestyles, Vermosa also sports bike lanes, jogging paths, and a 3.2-km bike trail with routes for beginners and intermediate bikers.

With its state-of-the-art features, AVSH was chosen as the home of PATAFA athletes as they prepare for international competitions, including the upcoming 2022 SEA Games.

Triathlete Gene Heart Quiambao recognizes the vital need to maintain a healthy lifestyle and to improve her skills and abilities as an athlete.

“Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub makes this possible by providing us with the best and [most] well-maintained facilities, not to mention the preparedness and safety procedures they hold on to ensure the safety of the community during this time of [the] pandemic,” she shares.

Long jump medalist Khay Santos shares how she likes the environment in Vermosa, being away from the bustling city. “Maayos ‘yung training ko dito kasi at the same time, nakaka-unwind ka kasi [maayos] ‘yung environment,” Santos says.

“Itong Vermosa ang pinakaunang nagkaroon ng nine lanes na track oval dito sa Pilipinas. So very helpful siya. Malawak ‘yung [training] area, wala masyadong mga distractions like sa previous na tine-trainingan namin. Napaka malaking tulong sa amin lalong lalo na kapag nagha-hard workout kami. Solong-solo namin ‘yung [track] oval, exclusive for the PATAFA,” shares Mark Diones, member of the Philippine National Team.

Leading an active lifestyle with AVSH

At Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub, Ayala Land Inc. brings together opportunities for exploring the outdoors and promoting an active lifestyle by aiding individuals on their own road to wellness. Currently, the PATAFA athletes enjoy a conducive environment infused with standardized facilities and activities that constantly foster their well-being in preparation for the upcoming SEA Games.

“A fully equipped and well-developed sports facility has [a] significant effect [on] the kind of athletes we build,” triathlete Luigi Victor Robles says. “The Hub goes beyond the minimum standards as it raises our training to a higher level. It is also a perfect venue to invite new and seasoned athletes, where it can hold world-class races and events,” he continues.

Despite ongoing challenges due to the pandemic, the athletes are still keen to find ways to achieve their goals whether at home or in a training facility. Lopena, Santos, Diones, and Malipay switched to home workouts during stricter lockdown restrictions.

“Bilang isang atleta, dapat nandun ‘yung determination mo na gagawa ka ng paraan na maging active ka pa rin sa lifestyle mo gaya ng workout from home. Dun ka mag-workout sa bahay niyo. Hanap ka ng mga [empty] na parking space. Basta lang active ka sa lifestyle para hindi [totally] mawala,” says Anfernee Lopena, member of the Philippine National Team.

Ronne Malipay, member of the Philippine National Team shares their ultimate goal as members of the National Team, “As an athlete, ito pa rin po kami, buo ‘yung tiwala namin na maggo-goal ‘yung bawat isa amin at makakamit talaga ‘yung medal.”

The PATAFA athletes share a common goal of continually pursuing an active lifestyle that involves intense training, and all thanks to AVSH, they are equipped to achieve their ultimate goal of bringing home the glory and the gold from the upcoming SEA Games and eventually, to raise the Philippine flag and be internationally-acclaimed in the Olympics.

Discover Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub by visiting today! AVSH is open daily from 6AM to 6PM and visitors may book through their hotline – (0967) 405 5782. The development is conveniently located a few minutes away from the heart of Manila, and less than 30 minutes from the bustling Makati CBD, through Muntinlupa-Cavite Expressway. It is also accessible via SLEX, CALAX, Daang Hari, Jose Abad Santos Road, and Palanas Road.
