Sam Dizon kept her streak of title runs in Singapore going, ruling the HSBC Youth Golf Challenge in wire-to-wire fashion yesterday via at the Warren Golf and Country Club in Singapore.

The young Filipina shotmaker matched her second round 74 with a closing 38-34 card on two birdies against four bogeys as she ran away with the crown on a two-over 218 total after 54 holes, 12 strokes ahead of local bet Shayne Lim, who birdied the last two holes to save a 75 for a 230.

Gwen Tan placed a distant third at 237 after a 78 marred by five bogeys and a double bogey against a lone birdie.

The victory came after the ICTSI-backed Dizon, 17, dominated the Singapore Junior Golf Championship last December where she claimed two titles. The incoming California Baptist University student also topped the 2021 Singapore Junior Masters Championship Open division at Laguna National’s Masters following her title romp in the amateur side of the 14th Asian Senior Masters@Singapore 2021 at Singapore Island Country Club’s Bukit course.

Well ahead of the pack after 36 holes, Dizon played pressure free but still fumbled with bogeys in the first six holes before draining a birdie putt on the eighth. She dropped another shot on No. 10 then snapped a run of pars with another birdie on the 17th before settling for a routine par on the closing par-5.
