The Dumper Tigers COCOLIFE will start the Year of the Tiger with a bang early this month.

The powerhouse team, owned by Davao Occidental Governor Claude Bautista, Dumper Party List Rep. Claudine Bautista-Lim and manager Dinko Bautista, supported by COCOLIFE president Atty. Jose Martin Loon, SVP Joseph Ronquillo, VP Rowena Asnan and EVP Franz Joie Araque, will mix it up with three other teams in a short but action-packed basketball tournament scheduled on January 9 to 12, 2022 in Isabel, Leyte.

The four-team, four-day cage tournament billed as Dumper Party League hosted by businessman/sportsman Tracker Lim, will showcase the exceptional talent and explosive action from the reigning MPBL Lakan Cup champion Davao Occidental (Dumper), MPBL and FILBASKET champion-caliber team Makati FSD, University of the Philippines from the UAAP and homegrown talents from host team Isabel, to be reinforced by selected players from commercial leagues in a rare ‘championship for a cause’ made possible by Rep. Bautista-Lim, in cooperation with the Leyte local government units.

“Our Tigers are raring to roar on Sunday (Jan. 9) in Isabel, Leyte. This is the start of our mission in pursuing basketball excellence in the Year of the Tiger,” deputy manager Ray Alao said.

Veteran Tigers Billy Ray Robles, Robby Celis, John Wilson, Bonbon Custodio, Emman Calo, Marco Balagtas, Joseph Terso, Jose Presbiterio and Jerwin Gaco will prove once more their lofty billing, with explosive support from newcomers and young guns Alwyn Alday, Irvin Palencia, Jason Grimaldo, Keith Agovida, Cris Lalata, Paolo Hubalde and Allan Santos.

They will be led by head coach Alvin Bonleon, assistant coaches Manu Inigo and Matt Makalintal at the helm.

“They are the same Tigers that dominated the VisMin All Stars last December in Pagadian City in Mindanao. Our winning tradition will surely pave the way in Isabel (Leyte)” said SVP Ronquillo who will personally witness the meaningful and fruitful caused-oriented excellent basketball event in the Visayas.
