THE rivalry continues for 10th seed Treat Huey and Max Mirnyi and the duo of Leander Paes and his new partner, Brazilian Andre Sa.
They are set to meet again at the start of the first round of the men’s doubles’ main draw in the 2016 Australian Open Tennis Tournament in Melbourne Park.
The last time they met two week ago, Paes and Sa ousted top seeds Huey and Mirnyi in the ASB Classic in Auckland, 7-6 (3), 6-3, to advance to the quarterfinals.
This was Paes and Sa’s first victory over the tandem after joining hands in late 2016.
Their second meeting this year will give Huey and Mirnyi a chance for payback.
Huey is one of two Filipinos joining the Australian Open, the other one being 17-year-old Alberto “AJ” Lim Jr.
Lim will see action in the junior division.
The world’s no. 52 Lim just finished his practice sessions and will be there with Huey as they prepare for their coming Davis Cup competition in the first week of February.
