Taekwondo trainers meet

THE Philippine Taekwondo Association will discuss its plans and programs for 2017 when it holds its National Instructors General Assembly tomorrow at the Rizal Memorial coliseum.

More than 700 national and regional head instructors from all over the country will participate in the vital meeting backed by the SMART/MVP Sports Foundation.

PTA Chief Executive Officer, Grandmaster Sung Chon Hong, said the assembly will take up the association’s plans and calendar of events this year as well as review the performance of its officers in the NCR and other regions.

The assembly will also talk about the PTA’s accomplishments last year and its preparation for this year’s national and international events topped by the 29th Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur.

The other important competitions are the World Taekwondo Championships, the World and Asian Cadet Championships, the Asian and Asian Junior Championships and the Philippine Taekwondo League.

Registration for tomorrow’s assembly is set from 9 to 10 a.m., followed by a refresher course on the new World Taekwondo Federation officiating rules as well as the updated techniques for poomsae (forms) and kyorugi (sparring) events.
