No Tankoua? No problem, big man Adamos is here

THE San Beda Red Lions have found an answer after they lost Cameroonian Donald Tankoua for the season because of injury.

Big man Benedict Adamos provided the solution and filled up the gaping hole as the Red Lions came away with four straight wins, including their 83-70 triumph over the Arellano University Chiefs last Tuesday in the playoffs for the no. 1 seeding in the 92nd National Collegiate Athletic Association men’s basketball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.

Because of his impressive showing, Adamos has become the team’s  new anchor on both ends of the court and in the Red Lions’ second straight win over the Chiefs.

He tallied 14 points, six rebounds and four blocks to help propel the Red Lions to their third consecutive win over the Chiefs this season.

AC Soberano and Adamos combined for a decisive 13-1 run at the start of the fourth quarter.

The top-seeded Red Lions will next take on fourth-seeded University of Perpetual Help on Friday at the MOA Arena.

Kent Salado and Donald Gumaru provided 11 points apiece for the second-seeded Chiefs, who will have a twice-to-beat incentive in their clash with the Mapua Cardinals.
