Big Brother separates ‘PBB’ teen housemates after ‘green joke’ concerns

Big Brother imposed a temporary separation between boys and girls housemates on “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0” after concerns were raised over the boys’ frequent green jokes, which left several girls uncomfortable.

In an episode aired this week, Kuya ordered housemates to stay only with those inside their designated rooms, saying they were prohibited from speaking to or seeing anyone from the opposite group until he say so.

While Kuya’s announcement initially drew surprise from the teen housemates, the reason soon became clear when several girl housemates shared they had been uneasy with the boy’s repeated double-meaning remarks.

Housemate Carmelle Collado told houseguest Shuvee Etrata that some of the boys made inappropriate jokes in front of them.

Inside the girls’ room, Carmelle also recounted overhearing Iñigo Jose say “GYAT,” an online slang phrase that means “Girl, your a*s thick” and comment about her body. The exchange left the group feeling “disgusted,” according to Krystal Mejes, who noted the boys often “tolerate” each other’s behavior.

The shift in dynamics was apparent, with the girls becoming noticeably quiet around the boys, which male housemate Lee Victor has noticed. He told his fellow boy housemates what he has observed.

“PBB Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0” airs weeknights on GMA and ABS-CBN online platforms.
