Executives of GMA Network and ABS-CBN met with First Lady Liza Marcos, hinting at another possible collaboration between the country’s two largest broadcasting companies.
On Friday, Aug. 15, Sparkle GMA Artist Center shared photos of the meeting on Instagram.
“Something big is brewing in the Philippine entertainment scene,” the caption read.
Among those present were GMA senior vice president Annette Gozon-Valdes, Sparkle first vice president and head Joy Marcelo, ABS-CBN president and CEO Carlo Katigbak, and ABS-CBN COO Cory Vidanes. Details of the project have not yet been disclosed.
The meeting follows a series of partnerships between the two networks. In 2023, ABS-CBN’s It’s Showtime began airing on GMA. This year, the two companies launched Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Edition Collab to mark the reality show’s 20th anniversary.
Meanwhile, Marcos has been actively supporting the local film and television industry. She attended the 2025 Manila International Film Festival in Los Angeles and previously called for stronger promotion of Filipino films worldwide during a visit to the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP).
