BTS member Jin marked his 33rd birthday by donating 100 million Korean won (approximately ₱4 million) to support vulnerable children and youth in Busan.
According to a report from Korean outlet Soompi, the Busan Namgwang Social Welfare Society confirmed that the K-pop idol made the donation earlier this week, with funds earmarked for talent-support scholarships benefiting underprivileged children and young people aging out of childcare institutions. The organization said Jin’s contribution will directly aid community members most in need.
Jin, the oldest member of BTS, has long been recognized for his philanthropy. He has previously donated to UNICEF, the Korea Animal Welfare Association, and other causes, adding to the group’s well-documented history of charitable giving.
Earlier this year, he released his second solo album, “Echo.” He also held an encore show in South Korea, where fellow BTS members Jungkook and J-Hope appeared as surprise guests.
