Disney and Pixar have unveiled the first trailer for Toy Story 5, hinting at a timely conflict as Woody, Buzz, and the gang confront a new kind of rival—technology.
The preview introduces Lilypad, a tablet device that disrupts the toys’ role in Bonnie’s life. According to Pixar, the story follows how the group responds as their purpose faces new competition.
“The toys are back and this time, Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Jessie and the rest of the gang’s jobs are challenged when they come face-to-face with Lilypad… Will playtime ever be the same?” the studio shared in the trailer description.

Scenes show the toys working together to protect their place in Bonnie’s world, with Buzz reaffirming their mission: “Our mission on this planet is to make a child happy.”
Returning cast members include Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and Joan Cusack, joined by newcomers such as Greta Lee, Conan O’Brien, and Tony Hale.
Director Andrew Stanton said the film explores how longtime characters respond to a tech-driven world, calling the journey both “hilarious and poignant.”
Toy Story 5 is scheduled to hit theaters on June 19.
