Source Music audition opens door for Filipinos eyeing K-pop debut

Filipinos dreaming of becoming K-pop idols have a new shot at the global stage.

Source Music, the HYBE label behind girl group Le Sserafim, has launched its first worldwide audition focused on recruiting male trainees. The search is open to applicants born in 2008 or later, regardless of nationality, with submissions accepted from Jan. 5 to 25, 2026.

For Filipinos hoping to follow the path of Southeast Asian artists in K-pop, the audition offers flexibility in showcasing talent. Applicants may submit performances in singing, rapping, dancing, or “any format that best showcases individuality and talent,” according to the label.

While Source Music currently manages only Le Sserafim, the agency has a track record of developing globally recognized acts. It previously formed GFriend, which reunited under the label in early 2025.

K-pop has increasingly embraced foreign members, including Filipinos who have successfully debuted in recent years—idols such as Chanty of Lapillus, Gehlee and Elisia of UNIS, and JL of AHOF—proving that homegrown talent can compete on a global stage.
