Awra Briguela fights back at transphobic attacks

Awra Briguela starts 2026 by drawing a line against online abuse, speaking out after a fresh wave of criticism on social media.

On X, the social media personality and former child star addressed repeated “transphobic and homophobic” attacks, noting years of daily insults without response.

“You’ve all been bullying me online, picking on me every single day,” the post read. “I chose to ignore everything, even though I was getting hurt every single day.”

The backlash intensified after a response to a basher who commented, “‘Yung mouthpiece talaga nagdala,” with, “‘Yung ngipin ko limang taon na sahod mo.” Some users criticized the reply, suggesting the higher road should have been taken.

Awra explained the reason for finally answering back.

“People got so comfortable disrespecting me because I chose not to stand up for myself for so long,” the post continued. “But when I finally do, I’m suddenly the bad person?”

Awra added that silence will no longer be maintained.

“I promise myself that I will no longer give transphobes the freedom to bully me,” the post concluded. “I will stand up for myself this time.”
