Here’s a closer look at seven of the most talked-about Filipino TV shows of the year, including their casts, story highlights, and viewing platforms.

Ang Mutya ng Section E

Based on Lara Flores’ hit Wattpad novel Ang Mutya ng Section E, this teen romantic comedy blended coming‑of‑age laughter with heartfelt romance. 

Ashtine Olviga starred as Jay‑Jay, the titular “mutya” who transfers into the quirky Section E of a prestigious school, where she eventually draws the affections of class president Keifer (Andres Muhlach) and the charming Yuri (Rabin Angeles). 

After streaming its 16‑episode first season on Viva One, the series later moved to free TV on TV5, expanding its audience. It also found a following online, driven in part by the chemistry of its young cast and a fresh love team.

Incognito

The action‑drama series Incognito became an early ratings powerhouse of 2025. Produced by Star Creatives and Studio Three Sixty and directed by Lester Pimentel Ong, the ensemble cast included Richard Gutierrez, Baron Geisler, Maris Racal, Anthony Jennings, Kaila Estrada, Ian Veneracion, and Daniel Padilla. 

Its plot interweaves undercover missions and dark secrets, drawing viewers in with tightly choreographed sequences and multi‑layered character arcs. 

The show debuted first on Netflix before its free‑to‑air run on Kapamilya Channel’s Primetime Bida evening block, where it maintained strong viewership through its July finale. Incognito also topped Netflix Philippines’ charts during its initial release period.

Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition

A historic season for the long‑running Pinoy Big Brother franchise, the Celebrity Collab Edition marked its first broadcast on GMA Network through a collaboration with ABS‑CBN Studios. 

The season featured 20 celebrity housemates from both Star Magic and Sparkle GMA Artist Center, giving audiences a unique mix of personalities under one roof for 119 days. 

Hosted by an expanded roster of Kapuso and Kapamilya artists, including Bianca Gonzalez, Robi Domingo, Kim Chiu, and Melai Cantiveros, the show connected with viewers through worldwide broadcasts on GMA Pinoy TV, live digital streams, and the ABS‑CBN Entertainment YouTube channel. 

Brent Manalo and Mika Salamanca were named as the first Big Winner Duo when the season concluded in early July.

Avenues of the Diamond

Avenues of the Diamond brought another Wattpad favorite to life as a romantic comedy‑drama. Starring Aubrey Caraan and Lance Carr, the series followed the story of Samantha “Sam” Vera and Clyden “Cy” Ramirez, whose arranged‑marriage situation turns into unexpected romance amidst family expectations, personal growth, and the high‑school social scene.

The series drew viewers with its Wattpad fanbase, teen romance story, and lead chemistry, keeping audiences engaged. Promotional events and online fan interaction boosted its popularity, making it one of 2025’s notable hits in the streaming world.

Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre

A new chapter in the beloved Encantadia universe, Sang’gre featured Bianca Umali in the lead role as Terra, a young heroine discovering her destiny as a royal-blooded diwata. 

The series also starred Kelvin Miranda, Faith da Silva, Angel Guardian, and Rhian Ramos as the primary antagonist, Mitena. 

Set against lush worldbuilding and mythic conflict between kingdoms of elemental gems, the show brought a nostalgic yet refreshed fantasy adventure to primetime audiences, with episodes available for free on GMA’s YouTube channel.

Sang’gre revived Filipino fantasy, drew cross-generational fans, and sparked online buzz and fan engagement, reinforcing the appeal of Philippine mythology in modern TV.

It’s Okay to Not Be Okay (Philippine adaptation)

This Philippine take on the 2020 South Korean hit reimagined the story with Anne Curtis as Mia, a woman navigating life with antisocial personality traits who forms an unlikely bond with Patpat (Joshua Garcia), a caretaker in a mental health facility. Carlo Aquino co‑starred as Patpat’s older brother, Matthew. 

Directed by Mae Cruz‑Alviar and Raymund B. Ocampo, the series ran through mid‑October with 65 episodes and debuted atop Netflix Philippines’ most‑watched list while also reaching sizable live stream figures on Kapamilya Online Live.
