Actress Sanya Lopez has been in the public eye long enough to know that online criticism comes with the territory. In a recent TV appearance, she spoke about learning to live with it.
She said social media bashing was present even before her career took off, and she learned early not to let it shape her sense of self. Lopez said she doesn’t dwell on comments thrown her way, convinced she hasn’t done anything to warrant the hostility.
“Even before I started, that was already part of the welcoming in my entry to the field. Bashers are always there. Because of that, I can say I got used to it at an early phase in my acting career,” the actress said in the vernacular. “I just don’t let myself get affected. Anyway, I know that I haven’t done anything wrong or bad, so I just couldn’t care less.”
For her, the country’s bigger problems deserve more attention than anonymous digs online. Lopez said national issues carry far more weight than the “shallow” criticisms she encounters on social media.
One strategy she uses is stepping away from her accounts. Lopez said she limits her time on apps and avoids immersing herself in daily online chatter, a habit that helps her stay focused and unbothered by noise and controversy.

Miguel Tanfelix, meanwhile, recalled a scare while filming the “Pocong” episode of KMJS’ Gabi ng Lagim (The Movie).
He said the shoot took place in the basement of a ship in Manila Bay, where ventilation was poor and the set was filled with smoke for the scene. Tanfelix had to perform a hysterical sequence while lying on the floor, shouting through the haze.
He inhaled more smoke than he expected and asked director Yam Laranas for a pause. Moments later, he said he blacked out.
When he came to, medics were already checking his vital signs and giving him water. Tanfelix said the moment left him shaken, calling it the first time he had fainted on set. He said he hopes not to relive the experience.
“It was the first time that it happened to me. It seemed like the world moved and I wasn’t aware of it. I just want to forget the whole incident,” Miguel said.
