GMA Network and Save the Children Philippines renewed their partnership on Nov. 24 to strengthen efforts promoting the rights, protection, and participation of Filipino children through responsible media.
The event at the GMA Network Center coincided with the end of National Children’s Month and included GMA senior vice president Annette Gozon-Valdes, Save the Children Philippines CEO Alberto Muyot, Save the Children ambassador Barbie Forteza, and child representatives from partner communities.
Gozon-Valdes stressed the importance of recognizing children’s perspectives in public discourse.
“Children are the hope of our nation, they are the hope of the world, and we need to really listen to their voice,” she said. “We at GMA are here to make your voice heard.”

Forteza addressed the children during a child-led engagement, urging adults and institutions to consider their concerns.
“All our voices matter, all are important. You are our future leaders, so your voices definitely matter,” she said. “All your concerns should be heard, respected, and acted upon because our future depends on you.”
The program featured a Speakers’ Bureau session led by Mike Rivera, creative consultant of GMA’s Entertainment Group, and Kapuso reporter Mariz Umali. The session introduced children to effective communication, safe self-expression, and storytelling to support their rights under the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The day concluded with a guided tour of GMA’s newsroom, studios, and broadcast facilities, giving children a hands-on look at how information is gathered, produced, and shared, and how creativity, innovation, and reporting come together in responsible media production.
