Zia Quizon is officially back!
The singer marked her return to the OPM scene on Thursday, November 13, with the launch of her new single “Reto Na Naman” at ABS-CBN’s Dolphy Theater.
The track, now streaming on major platforms with a lyric video on Star Music’s YouTube channel, was written by Jungee Marcelo—the hitmaker behind “Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo?” and “Ako Na Lang.”
Speaking to ABS-CBN News, Zia shared what makes the collaboration special.
“‘Yung ‘reto,’ hindi ba, ‘yung parang pinag-pair, pinag-match. Pero for me, ‘yung perfect talaga music-wise is with Sir Jungee,” she said, adding that she’s “perfectly comfortable with interpreting” songs because of the chemistry they share. “So may magic talaga doon.”
Before performing her new single, Zia signed a contract with Star Music, officially becoming a Kapamilya again. She said her comeback simply happened when the timing felt right.
“This is what I do… naghihintay lang ako for the right opportunity, the right people to work with, and thankfully nangyari din siya in time,” she said.
Her mother Zsa Zsa Padilla and husband Aleksa Rahul were present to support her during the launch.
