Comedienne Ai-Ai delas Alas opened up about revoking the green card petition of her ex-husband, Gerald Sibayan, saying it was part of her healing process after their split.
In an interview with Boy Abunda, the actress said she initially planned to keep the petition but later changed her mind, realizing it was time to prioritize herself.
“Nung una, ayoko talaga gawin yun pero nung bandang huli naisip ko, parang ayoko naman maging santa or something kasi yun na lang ba yung, kahit panget, yung ganti ko para sa sarili na nasaktan ako,” she said.
Ai-Ai revealed that the petition was withdrawn when she filed for divorce. While the court’s final decision has yet to be released, she confirmed that Sibayan is no longer under her petition for U.S. residency.
“Siya naman nag sabi na gusto niya mag punta ng America eh, hindi naman ako yung nag bigay sa kanya na, ‘Oh halika na punta na tayo sa America,’” she explained.
Though she admitted she’s still moving on, the Queen of Comedy said she’s at peace and focused on positivity.
“Ako ngayon ay at peace… pain was my teacher and healing is my revolution,” she ended.
