As Child No. 82 continues its run at the Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival, rising actor JM Ibarra is finally breathing easier.
In a heartfelt post, Ibarra thanked his Pinoy Big Brother love team partner Fyang Smith for giving him the courage to take on his first major movie role.
“Thank you for giving me the confidence to do this film,” he wrote. “You were the first to believe in me, and that inspires me to grow every single day.”
The two currently star in the iWant series Ghosting, but Ibarra shared that Fyang’s support began long before their latest project. At the Child No. 82 gala night, he said she was all smiles watching the film, easing his nerves before the premiere.

Ibarra said he relates deeply to the film’s story, which centers on children born out of wedlock.
“The message hit close to home,” he said. “At the end of the day, it’s about appreciating the people around us and loving ourselves.”
Child No. 82 screens at Shangri-La Plaza, Gateway Cineplex, and select Ayala Malls Cinemas until October 12.
