The Philippines’ Anita Gomez gave a standout performance at the Miss Asia Pacific International 2025 preliminaries, taking home the Best in Swimsuit award.
The closed-door event, held on Oct. 6, saw Gomez besting fellow contestants from Brazil and Belgium, who placed first and second runners-up respectively. The Zambales native also finished first runner-up in the evening gown segment, with Brazil securing the top prize and the United States in third.
On social media, Gomez expressed gratitude to her supporters, writing, “Pilipinas, we made it! I hope I made you all proud as I carried our flag and the pride of the Philippines on the international stage. I love you all!”
Representing the country through Miss Grand Philippines 2025, Gomez is competing for the Philippines’ sixth Miss Asia Pacific International crown, the last of which was won by Sharifa Akeel in 2018.
Ahead of the coronation night, the pageant’s organizers redirected some of their activities to aid those affected by the recent Cebu earthquake. The final show will proceed as scheduled on Oct. 8 at the Cebu Coliseum.
