Noontime show “Eat Bulaga” celebrated the 10th anniversary of “Kalyeserye,” the hit segment that became a nationwide phenomenon.
On Wednesday, tbe show aired a special tribute to mark the July 16 anniversary of “Kalyeserye,”which first aired in 2015 and introduced the love team of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza, known to fans as AlDub.
The show featured throwback clips and performances from the popular segment, including song performances by Singing Queens and host Karen Eistrup, singing iconic songs used during the AlDub era.
Kalyeserye became one of the most successful segments on Philippine TV, with millions of viewers following the story of Alden and Yaya Dub. In October 2015, the “Tamang Panahon” special filled the Philippine Arena and set a record with 41 million of tweets in a single day.
The anniversary celebration comes as Eat Bulaga continues its 46th year on air.
