Last June 12, Kapuso Barangayan on Wheels went to Brgy. Jagobiao, Mandaue City in Cebu.

The campaign is a mobile version of GMA RTV’s “Kapuso Barangayan,” which is a community activity by GMA Network’s regional arm conducted in key rural villages across the regions.

With the community quarantine being implemented in the country, GMA RTV continues to reach out to indigent Filipinos in the regions going straight to the communities that badly need the essential items.

The first mobile barangayan in Western Visayas was held in Iloilo City last May 29. GMA RTV Iloilo provided free breakfast to more than 100 families in Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao.

Meanwhile, Kapuso in the North Central Luzon were given aid at the barangayan held in Barangay Malued, Dagupan City last June 3. A total of 110 families were given grocery packs by GMA RTV Dagupan.

Coinciding with the celebration of the 122nd Philippine Independence Day, another “Kapuso Barangayan on Wheels” was held in Cebu last June 12 where more than 100 families in Barangay Jagobiao in Mandaue were given fresh vegetables and poultry.

“If we are willing to work together to help our fellowmen who have been placed at a disadvantage because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we can all recover together. Rest assured that we, at GMA RTV, remain committed to deliver local news that matters through our weekday local newscasts and morning programs, and reach out to communities in the regions through various initiatives,” says GMA Regional TV Vice President and Head Oliver Amoroso.

Apart from wearing proper PPEs and practicing social distancing, the teams involved in “Kapuso Barangayan on Wheels” undergo body temperature check using non-contact temperature scanners. They are also required to accomplish Daily Health Monitoring Form (DHMR) as part of managing the overall well-being of everyone.
