GMA Network, through its environmental corporate social responsibility initiative Kapuso ng Kalikasan, recently joined the Earth Hour 2020 in unity with World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Philippines’ response to the growing need for environmental action.
Held last March 28, the Kapuso Network took part in encouraging Filipinos to switch their lights off from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.
GMA likewise switched off non-essential lights in certain areas in its Quezon City headquarters as well as in its regional stations on the said day.
Also known as the world’s largest grassroots movement for the environment, the Earth Hour is an effort to bring together millions of people around the world in a show of commitment for the planet.
WWF-Philippines used this year’s celebration as an opportunity to launch is newest campaign nationwide dubbed #ChangeTheEnding, which shows the public that there is now a great need for awareness on the importance of nature and a healthy planet, and for long-term solutions to the current environmental crisis.
