Ricky Davao lands on a starring role in Cinemalaya official entry, ‘Parole.’

Entitled Parole, the film tackles the story of a paroled ex-convict who tries to adjust back to society after being imprisoned for 30 long years for a crime he did not commit.

“The film is inspired by a documentary and the character was formed while I was watching it. It is an untold story that we wanted the audience to see. The film also teaches people to give ex-convicts another chance to live like normal people and be accepted as reformed men,” film director Brilliant Juan told Manila Standard in an interview.

«The journey of the film revolves around the question whether the person should stay in prison or live outside. The prison has become his home and his inmate, his family. He doesn›t have any family outside. That›s the character›s dilemma,» the director added.

Also in the cast are Kent Gonzales, Richard Quan, Dino Pastrano, Royce Cabrera, Migs Almendras, and Renshi De Guzman.
