Top-rating GMA series Madrasta is set to air its heart-tugging finale tomorrow, Feb. 21.
The afternoon series delved on the colorful character of Audrey (Arra San Agustin) whose ordinary life is changed when she met Sean (Juancho Trivino) who happens to father two children alongside his ex-wife Katharine (Thea Tolentino) who makes her life a living hell.
Arra San Agustin, who breathed life to the character of Audrey, shared what she loved most about portraying her character, “She’s a loyal person.”
“Imagine the challenges and troubles she’s gone through– nakalimutan siya ng asawa niya, pinagtabuyan siya, nakaaway niya ‘yung nanay ng asawa niya, may malditang ex-wife – hindi ka ba mapapagod ‘pag ganoon ‘yung nararanasan mo every day? Siguro ‘pag nagkaroon ako ng friend na katulad ni Audrey, sobrang ite-treasure ko siya dahil alam kong hindi niya ako iiwanan and alam kong ipaglalaban n’ya ako until the end.”
Arra also expressed her gratitude towards her co-stars and the production team for the newfound friendship, “We've created a different kind of friendship. We became close as we bond on the set. I think that's what I'm going to miss the most, the friendship.
Juancho Trivino revealed that Sean has helped him reach a certain level of maturity in real life, “This is the second time for me to play the lead in a teleserye but this is the lost challenging. The character requires a different kind of maturity. So, I guess it helps me mature, too, in real life.”
Seasoned actress Gladys Reyes, who played the role of Sean’s doting mother Elizabeth, expressed her admiration towards her co-actors and their professionalism whenever on set, “Nakakatuwa dahil ‘yung mga kaaway ko rito sa Madrasta ay friends ko talaga in real-life kagaya ni Manilyn (Reynes) and Almira (Muhlach). Masarap din kaeksena si Thea dahil talagang totohanan ‘yung mga bangayan scenes naming dalawa. Hindi ako sanay na pinepeke ‘yung mga eksena so nakakatuwa na game na game siya.”
With the failure of Katharine’s last resort to break Audrey and Sean apart, will the two finally get their long overdue happily ever after? Is this the end of Katharine’s unceasing ploys to ruin Audrey and Sean’s relationship? Will Audrey finally take her rightful spot in the life of Sean and his children?
