Studio Viva ignited excitement among Wattpad fans as it posted a teaser hinting at an upcoming adaptation of a Wattpad series.
On Wednesday, April 23, the production company shared a clip across its social media platforms, showing a couple sitting on a chair while watching the sun set.
“LOOK: NEW SERIES ADAPTATION. Something Delightful is Playing… An OG Wattpad story is coming to Viva One,” the caption read.
The 11-second teaser sparked speculation among fans, many of whom believe the teaser alludes to a screen adaptation of the popular Wattpad novel “Seducing Drake Palma.”
“Seducing Drake Palma,” penned by author Arieza Jane Domingo, gained significant popularity on Wattpad in 2015.
The novel follows the story of Alys Zyril Perez, a spirited and clumsy high school student who secretly has feelings for her best friend, Sheen Mendoza. When Sheen’s girlfriend, Kei Chui, leaves him for the new student, Drake Palma, Sheen asks Alys to seduce Drake as a means of revenge.
Previously, Studio Viva has had a history of successfully adapting Wattpad stories for the screen. Notably, the company produced Gwy Saludes’ University Series, which includes “The Rain in España,” “Safe Skies, Archer,” “Chasing in the Wild,” and currently, its fourth installation, “Avenues of the Diamond.”
It also produced the hit teen rom-com “Ang Mutya ng Section E,” adapted from Lara Flores’ Wattpad trilogy.
As of writing, the production company has not released any official statements regarding the series’ title, cast, or release date.
