When a marriage falls apart, the biggest concern is not just the past but the future—especially for the children caught in between.
In a recent episode of CIA with BA, Rose turned to the program for guidance on how to shield her child from the emotional strain of her separation from her husband, Omar.
In the Case 2 Face 2 Face segment on the February 23 episode, Rose shared that her relationship with Omar ended due to his repeated infidelity. Omar, however, defended himself, claiming that Rose was the first to be unfaithful. This, he said, caused him emotional distress and led to an incident where he physically hurt her—something he now admits.
Senator Alan Peter Cayetano emphasized that their primary focus should be their love for their child. Instead of dwelling on past mistakes, Sen. Alan advised them to concentrate on how they could still be good parents despite their separation.

One of the first agreements they reached was for Omar to communicate directly with their children, as some of them were already of age. They also discussed the importance of proper interaction and dedicating quality time to their kids.
Since Omar does not have days off from work, Sen. Alan proposed that he choose two days per week to spend solely with his children. To support this arrangement, CIA with BA committed to covering his salary for those two days for one month. This ensured that Omar could dedicate time to his children without financial concerns.
Both Rose and Omar agreed to this arrangement, hoping it would help create a more harmonious co-parenting relationship despite their separation.
“I hope this will be successful. If we can make it work, that’s one Filipino family less with problems in the future,” Sen. Alan remarked, underscoring his commitment to strengthening Filipino families.
Reflecting on the resolution, Sen. Alan emphasized how, despite the complexity of the case, the discussion remained constructive because of one shared priority—their child’s well-being.
“Naging madali ‘yung ating Case 2 Face kahit komplikado ‘yung kaso. ‘Yung common denominator: ‘yung pagmamahal sa anak. Ang hirap talaga ‘pag may nag-aaway, lalo kung parehong may punto, parehong may emosyon,” he noted. “Importante ang batas, pero mas importante [kung] ano bang pundasyon ang pinag-uusapan, at sa pamilya, ‘yung pagmamahal sa anak talaga.”
Through open dialogue and understanding, the program continuously aims to help more families navigate similar challenges and find resolutions that prioritize the well-being of their children.
CIA with BA continues the legacy of the late Senator Rene Cayetano and airs every Sunday at 11:00 p.m. on GMA7, with replays on GTV the following Saturday at 10:30 p.m.
