Fall in love with cinema classics in ‘Sine Sinta’

This February, the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) celebrates National Arts Month and Valentine’s Day with Sine Sinta: Pag-ibig at Pelikula. From Feb. 5 to 16, enjoy a selection of classic and contemporary romance films at Ayala Malls, Cinematheque Centres, and the Manila Metropolitan Theater (MET). Here’s a glimpse of the films you can catch this February:

Gitling

This 2023 drama follows Jamie, a young Filipina translator, and Makoto, a middle-aged Japanese filmmaker. Their unlikely friendship blossoms while working together on a film in Bacolod, offering a touching story of healing and connection.

Past Lives

In this romantic drama, Nora reconnects with Hae Sung, a childhood friend, after years apart. Now living in New York and married, Nora must navigate her past feelings and her present life.

Kung Mangarap Ka’t Magising

This 1977 classic explores the complicated romance between Joey, a college student, and Anna, a young woman trapped in an unhappy marriage, showing how love can be both healing and painful.

Most films at Sine Sinta: Pag-ibig at Pelikula are free, except for Gitling and Past Lives. Labs Kita, Okey Ka Lang? will be shown exclusively at MET, followed by a special talkback session on Feb. 16.
