Showbiz newcomer Cloe Barreto turned emotional during the story conference for the film Tahan, a sexy psychological thriller to be directed by Bobby Bonifacio, Jr.
Written by another sexy actress, Quinn Carillo, who is also part of the cast, the soon-to-be-made movie enlists Jaclyn Jose and JC Santos as main stars.
Completing the cast are Karl Medina, AJ Oteyza, Mac Cardona, Mercedes Cabral, EJ Salamante, Joseph San Jose, and Stiff Banzon.
“I’m just so overwhelmed that I was given this opportunity to act alongside these big stars,” Chloe said in vernacular.
Still wiping her tears off her cheek, she jested, “Wait, sayang ang makeup.”
“I just can’t believe that I’ll have another big project. It only inspires me to give my best. I went through depression after my movie last year so I was away from the limelight. I didn’t think I would be given another chance to showcase my talent,” she added.
Cloe played the lead role in Joel Lamangan’s Silab, which premiered in July. The seasoned director had nothing but praises for her sensational performance as a young married woman.
In Tahan, on the other hand, Cloe plays Elisse, a sex worker who was thrown into the flesh trade at the early age of eleven.
“I can only relate to my character for working at an early age. I started joining modeling and beauty contests at 15, other than that we really don’t have something in common. So, it’s really a challenge getting into a character. It’s a challenge, especially for the director,” the aspiring star said of her character.
“Lahat ng gagawin ko dito ay character lang,” she clarified.
