Yesterday at the grand press launch of Regal Entertainment’s latest film, Wild and Free, Derrick Monasterio and Sanya Lopez talked about how their being comfortable with each other helped a lot in executing intimate scenes in their upcoming film, which unspools in cinemas nationwide on Oct. 10.
In the sexy romance directed by Connie S. Macatuno, the lead stars are bringing their acting skill a notch higher as each of them embrace a more mature and sexier front.
The two Kapuso actors are shedding off their wholesome image in this big screen project in which they are required to do “wild” love scenes. Sanya admits that she prepared even before they had their first intimate scene inside the car.
“I came prepared because I wanted to learn and improve my skills as an actor,” the sultry star relates and admits that her effort to be a better version of herself as an actor broke the ice and is now more comfortable with her leading man. She has no more qualms discussing or doing intimate scenes with him.
“Derrick and I, we click, we can talk about anything under the sun. We can even have dirty talks and I guess we have reached that level of being comfortable because we are both naughty, we are both wild and free. Matagal na kaming magkakilala at mas nagkakilala pa kami.”
Like what the title of their movie implies, the two actors made it a point that they lived up to their project’s title.
Derrick, for instance, is thrilled to describe their love scenes together as “realistic.”
“You’ll see in the movie, the love making scenes are so sexy, I think nagawa namin ‘yun together ng maganda,” he beams.
In one love making scene, the two had to do it on top of a washing machine.
“I can’t imagine normal people would really do that. We get feedback that they could relate dun sa car scene namin,” Sanya quips.
Derrick is just happy to act opposite Sanya in their first daring roles. He has nothing but good words for his leading lady saying that Sanya is alluring, has a sexy character, and has seductive eyes.
“Tempting talaga because she has a very pretty face and sexy body,” he grins explaining that most men get attracted to opposite sex initially because of the person’s physical attributes. This, he adds, made it easy for him to work with Sanya.
Talking about the film’s plot, the lead stars say that Wild and Free tells the story of Ellie, an independent and self-supporting woman, who has had complex relationships with two men.
The story begins when Ellie (Sanya), working as a part-time TNVS (transport network vehicle service) driver, picks up Jake (Derrick), a man from his past. While on the trip, Ellie and Jake reminisce their happy times, when they were still a couple.
Three years before, the two has met each other, while commuting. The two instantly hit it off and eventually felt the attraction with each other, which then has blossomed into a budding relationship. But one day, Jake discovers a bitter truth about Ellie’s past.
Suddenly, Jake has found himself struggling with his inner insecurities and self-doubt, which threatened to ruin his relationship with Ellie if he did not overcome them.
