Beauty queens Miss World Philippines 2017 Laura Lehmann and Miss Multinational 2018 Sophia Senoron and model Michelle Dee are looking forward to start a new journey as they signed their exclusive contracts with GMA Artist Center on Monday.
Present during the contract-signing were GMA Entertainment Group Senior Vice President Lilybeth G. Rasonable, GMA Senior Assistant Vice President for Alternative Productions Gigi Santiago-Lara, and talent manager Arnold Vegafria.
Rasonable is proud to welcome the new talents as part of the network. She’s thankful that these young talents chose GMA to further explore their showbiz career option.
“They’ll have guestings in our different shows. They’re undergoing workshops now, so maybe after that we can give them important roles,” shared Rasonable.
Despite having little experience in the showbiz industry, the three new Kapuso artists expressed how grateful they are to sign up with GMA. Now, let’s get to know them better.
Who doesn’t know her? Unless you’re living under a rock, you wouldn’t know Laura as a courtside reporter for the Ateneo Blue Eagles in the UAAP. The statuesque mestiza used to be a host, too, for lifestyle and sports channels. She joined Binibining Pilipinas in 2014 and won first-runner up. However, she won Miss World Philippines 2017 and competed in China but fell short for the crown in the Top 15. Laura lost but went home with the award “Beauty with a Purpose” for her dedication of a cause of building a milk bank for a local maternity ward.
She won an international pageant at just 18. She made a record for being the first to be crowned Miss Multinational. The inaugural pageant that was held in India saw how eloquent Sophia is being a varsity debater in San Beda College. Her confidence in debating locally and internationally helped her to become a better public speaker. By the way, she loves dogs, the beach, and archery.
Entering showbiz wasn’t her big dream. It’s her mother’s dream for her initially, she said. But now, it seems that she’s enjoying the limelight. Following in the footsteps of her mother Melanie Marquez, Michelle now ventures into the world of showbiz by starting out as a model. She’s also a well-known figure in the blogging and socmed community with her pastel-filled Instagram feed. Michie Galanida
