‘Art 2 Art’ unveils April episodes

Art 2 Art continues to bring a variety of conversations on art and culture in its summer harvest of episodes airing in April.

Produced by the Manila Broadcasting Company and hosted by “Ballerina ng Bayan” Lisa Macuja, Art 2 Art airs every Sunday, 3:30 to 4:00 p.m., on radio via DZRH (666 khz on the AM band), on cable television via RHTV (Ch. 129 on Skycable in Metro Manila, Ch. 18 on Cignal TV and Ch. 3 on Cablelink) and online livestreaming at http://dzrhnews television.tv. The show may also be viewed through the Facebook account DZRH News Television. 

On April 1, Lyric Opera of the Philippines honorary chairperson Maestra Irma Potenciano and co-founder Sherwin Sozon discussed their group’s mission of promoting opera through quality productions and outreach projects. 

On April 8, stage actor, singer and director Joaquin Pedro Valdes shares the journey that has led him to his forthcoming stint as a member of the touring cast of Miss Saigon in the United Kingdom and in Europe.

On April 15, the Saturday Group of Artists – represented by president Omi Reyes, former president Migs Villanueva and art critic Cid Reyes – look back to the group’s beginnings as it celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.

On April 22, Art 2 Art pays tribute to National Artist for Sculpture Napoleon Abueva who passed away last Feb. 16. National Museum assistant director Ana Labrador and visual artist Toym Imago share anecdotes and assess the legacy of the beloved sculptor.

Finally, on April 29, to celebrate International Dance Day, Ballet Philippines principal dancer Denise Parungao relates the rigorous training to become a ballerina and the joys of performing that make the effort all worth it.
