Most of the big stars at the annual Gabi ng Parangal, the Metro Manila Film Festival Awards Night, were no show at the Kia Theatre on Wednesday night but the presence of Erich Gonzales was enough to make all cameras flash and all heads turn.
Erich showed off her sensational figure in several scenes in Siargao where she is seen in skimpy bikinis while riding the waves on the country’s surfing capital. And during the Awards Night, the 27-year-old actress brought the same kind of sexiness to the venue.
Escorted by her leading man Jericho Rosales, the Kapamilya star arrived at the Kia Theatre (with the help of a five-man glam team) wearing an alluring powder blue floor-length gown accentuated by a dangerously low cleavage and a high slit. The MMFF organizers sure noticed Erich’s effort as she was called up onstage as the Female Star of the Night along with her counterpart All of You star Derek Ramsay, who also won P20,000 for looking sleek and dashing in black sport jacket over a white long sleeve shirt.
In Siargao, Erich plays Laura who embarks on a solo trip to the North Eastern tip of Mindanao hoping to move on and find a new adventure. There she meets rock singer Diego (Jericho) who is caught between uncertainties of the future and baggage of the past.
According to the actress, the film serves as somewhat of a catharsis for the her after going through a controversial breakup with Brazilian-Japanese model and actor Daniel Matsunaga in February.
