There were many specific moments on television this year that made our viewing habit even more pleasurable. From fantasy to romantic comedy, and from drama to action, we are listing down the most memorable highlights from shows that shaped Philippine TV in 2017:

Water gun scene in ‘Ika-6 Na Utos’

It was supposed to be a normal confrontational scene between two women fighting over the love and attention from the same man. In an episode of the top-rating series, netizen gushed over the “water gun” scene where pregnant Georgia played by actress Ryza Cenon pointed a toy water gun at Emma who is also pregnant, portrayed by Sunshine Dion. While the series has a few other memorable moments, this water gun scene proves to be a big hit among viewers and netizens as the original clip uploaded on YouTube has already amassed almost 2.5 million views.

Maja Salvador is indestructible in ‘Wildflower’

The indestructible Ivy Aguas of the Kapamilya series Wildflower has been heating up our TV and smartphone screens with its explosive scenes and punchline after punchline, and the drama between the Ardientes and Cruzes is showing no signs of slowing down. That’s why it was renewed for another season. It’s good to note that most of the TV-inspired memes that dominated social media this year mostly came from this Maja Salvador-starrer drama series.

Derrick Monasterio transforms in ‘Mulawin vs Ravena‘

It was a TV moment for the 22-year-old actor when an episode of Mulawin Vs Ravena featured him being tortured. He was tied upside down and repeatedly plunged into water. In the same episode, Derrick’s near nakedness exploded on social media when his character Almiro turned into a full-bloomed Mulawin. As we quoted in June, it has the makings of every gay’s fantasy: A piece of cloth slowly removed, a sculpted bod heavily oiled, and then that long exposure to make thy gay-manity drool. That’s Derrick Monasterio for you.

Angel Locsin returns in ‘La Luna Sangre’

Primetime viewing got more intense when Angel Locsin rejoined the cast of ABS-CBN’s hit action fantasy drama as the mysterious Jacinta Magsaysay. Interestingly, Angel even got trolled by KathNiel fans when her Twitter-trending comeback to the weeknight drama drew positive feedback. The episode where Angel reappeared registered higher viewership for the series as it jumped five points higher than its average rating.
