After a lively Pinoy Fiesta and Trade Show sa Toronto with Kapuso Ultimate Star Jennylyn Mercado and Boobay, GMA Pinoy TV brings Kapuso actress Glaiza de Castro in Vancouver to headline Pinoy Fiesta: Unang Hirit sa Tag-Init in continuation of its Philippine Independence celebrations in Canada.

Jennylyn and Boobay pulled out all the stops for a series of performances during the Pinoy Fiesta and Trade Show sa Toronto on June 24. The crowd at Metro Toronto Convention Center was on their feet and cheering wildly for their idols.

Apart from rocking the stage with a mix of song and dance numbers, they participated in a couple of activities before and during the show. Mercado crowned the new winners of Miss Philippines Canada, and Boobay hosted a gay beauty pageant in commemoration of Pride Month. Up-and-coming Kapuso artist Shanaia Gomez, a first runner-up in Miss Philippines Canada 2016, joined them.

Mercado shared that her favorite part of the program was witnessing the crowd having a great time during the event. “Nakakataba po ng puso na makitang masayang-masaya ang mga Kapuso natin sa Canada! I felt their love and support, and they continue to be a source of inspiration for me,” said the My Love from the Star actress. Similarly, Boobay was all praises for the crowd. “Ako po ay super overwhelmed sa napakainit na pagtanggap ng ating mga Kapuso dito sa Toronto! Iba talaga, sobrang taas po ng energy nila!,”

Glaiza de Castro, who wowed viewers with her stunning portrayal of Pirena in the recently concluded and highly successful telefantasya Encantadia, is pumped to party with her kababayans at the Pinoy Fiesta: Unang Hirit sa Tag-Init on Aug. 13 in Vancouver.

“I’m always excited whenever I’m given opportunities to travel and meet our kababayan and Kapuso abroad,” said De Castro on being a part of this year’s event. “Sobrang nakakatuwa kapag nakikita mo silang masaya lalo na kapag nakakarinig ka ng mga kwento nila. Nakaka-inspire,” she added.

Fans of Glaiza’s music are in for a musical treat as they will be the first ones to hear live renditions of the artist’s newest songs. “I will be singing songs from my new album Magandang Simulain, and some revivals, as well. So, sana sabay-sabay kaming magkantahan para mas masaya,” said the actress-slash-singer-songwriter.
