‘Art 2 Art’ bares April episodes

Art 2 Art continues its mission of bringing “usapang sining at kultura para sa lahat” (art and culture discussion for everyone) in April.

Produced by the Manila Broadcasting Company and hosted by “Ballerina ng Bayan” Lisa Macuja, Art 2 Art airs every Sunday, 3:30 to 4 p.m., on radio via DZRH (666 khz on the AM band), on cable television via RHTV (Ch. 129 on Skycable in Metro Manila, Ch. 18 on Cignal TV and Ch. 3 on Cablelink) and online live streaming at http://dzrhnews television.tv. The show can also be viewed on Facebook DZRH News Television.

On April 9, Palm Sunday, Heritage Conservation of Malolos President Rheeza Hernandez discusses the art of puni or coconut leaf weaving, which she has been trying to revive by conducting lecture-demonstrations about it. Hernandez is also an advocate for Bulacan’s culinary heritage, a volunteer local tour guide and is active in community theater.

On April 16, Easter Sunday, Art 2 Art welcomes The Company, the most successful vocal group in the country. Current members Sweet Plantado, Annie Quintos, Cecile Bautista, Reuben Laurente and Moy Ortiz share the secrets behind the longevity of the group now marking its 32nd anniversary in the entertainment industry.

On April 23, Art 2 Art marks International Dance Day (April 29) with Aharon Solomon, director general of the internationally renowned Karmiel Dance Festival. Considered the biggest dance celebration in Israel, the festival has been held annually since 1987 and will include with Ballet Manila among its guests this year.

Art 2 Art host Lisa Macuja with sculptor Daniel dela Cruz

On April 30, the program caps the month with sculptor Daniel dela Cruz. An industrial designer by profession, he became a full-time artist and is known for his mixed metal sculptures portraying strong, happy and lively women. In the past 10 years, the prolific Dela Cruz has mounted 20 solo exhibitions and participated in 80 group shows.
