EXO’s vocalist D.O. has debuted his highly anticipated first mini-album “Empathy,” along with the music video for the single “Rose.”

Described as “an acoustic folk genre song with a refreshing guitar rhythm” by the 28-year-old K-pop idol, the carrier single also happens to be one of the two tracks for the mini-album written by D.O., along with “I’m Fine.”

The tracks in “Empathy” are all co-written, co-composed, and co-produced by an array of talents, including Jae from K-Band DAY6, Andreas Ringblom, Dave Gibson, music producer 220, and more.

“There were times when I couldn’t relate to the word ’empathy,’ but I felt that there was a lot of energy in it,” D.O. shared the reason why he chose “Empathy” as the title of his album.

“I had experienced good and influential energy, I decided to go with the theme of ‘empathy’ with the desire to give that to others,” he added.

Though he’s heading in a direction that he has always wanted to traverse, the K-pop star admitted that it felt new to him to record music without the other members of EXO.

The Korean star is both excited and nervous to know how the public would receive his debut album.

“I worked hard to make it so that you can feel the good energy while listening to the songs, so I hope you’ll be happy,” he said while inviting his fans to listen to his music.

“Empathy” features eight tracks, including “Rose,” “I’m Gonna Love You,” “My Love,” “It’s Love,” “Dad,” “I’m Fine,” “Si Fueras Mia,” and the English version of “Rose.”
