K-Pop boy group EXO bags another ‘million seller’ title with its latest album, Don’t Fight the Feeling.
On June 7, EXO released the special album, Don't Fight the Feeling, which sold a total of 1,089,681 copies within a week of release, according to SM Entertainment.
This record marks another milestone for the group for becoming a sixth-million seller, reiterating EXO’s unparalleled power and influence despite the group’s overall hiatus.
Don't Fight the Feeling is the K-Pop acts first comeback after more than a year since its sixth studio album, Obsession.
The boy group first bagged the million-seller title with its first debut studio album, XOXO (Kiss&Hug) in 2013. The group also the act that managed to break the 12-year curse in the Korean music industry for selling a million copies since 2001.
Don’t Fight the Feeling recorded a million during the pre-order period making it another feat for the group. The special album also swept the iTunes Top Albums charts in over 85 countries after its release.
The EP is considered a special album especially for EXO-L’s, the group’s fandom name, because of the seven-member line-up that took part in the album.
This is the first comeback since members D.O. and Xiumin finished their compulsory military service in January 2021 and December 2020, respectively.
Much to the great joy and surprise of fans and non-fans alike, member Lay is also participating in Don’t Fight The Feeling, his first comeback as a member of EXO after three years.
As of writing, the hashtag to celebrate this milestone, #EXOSextupleSeller, has been dominating the Philippine trends with 176k tweets.
