“My Everyday Valentine” is the latest digital single released by one of Original Pinoy Music’s (OPM) exponents in the ‘80s and ‘90s, JoAnne Lorenzana. The singer and songwriter penned the lyric while the melody was created by brilliant, prolific songwriter Jimmy Borja, with arrangement by Jimmy Antiporda.

Singer and songwriter JoAnn Lorenzana pens a new ballad inspired by her own love story.

The ballad singer, who has been in hiatus since 2005 and “living a beautiful life” in the US, recently spoke to some members of local entertainment press to talk about her new track.

“The song is a sweet, easy-listening, pop ballad that reminds those who cherish the love that the emotions and memories it evokes not only begins at the onset of one’s love story but also transcends the season of hearts,” she shared.

Though officially released on Valentine’s Day, the composition is meant to be an everyday love song.  It says that while expressing our love feels good on Valentine’s or any other season, it is even better to express it every single day.

The happily married singer penned the song inspired by her own love story.

Between Seasons, the last album JoAnne released was back in 2010.  Since then, she has only released another single, ‘‘New Year’s Day’’, about five years ago.  The singer-songwriter revealed she has vowed to release new songs every year, if possible.

“Of course I miss the local music scene. And I want to work with young singers and musicians if possible,” JoAnne said adding that she loves listening to Moira dela Torre and December Avenue.

JoAnne, who is best known for the classic ballads “I’ll Never Let You Go,” “Kung Alam Mo Lang,” “Back In Your Arms” and “Goodtimes, Badtimes,” was discovered in 1984. She front-acted for international acts held locally, such as Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine, Menudo (the former group of Ricky Martin), and the British jazz ensemble Shakatak.

In 1985, she was launched in a show billed as JoAnne: Her First Time to announce the entry of the pop artist into the music industry.

“My Everyday Valentine” is in keeping with her vow to her music audience, especially avid OPM listeners.

“My Everyday Valentine” is available on  Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, and Amazon Music.
