“Somewhere in My Past” was the debut single of Julie Vega and later served as the lead single of her debut album First Love released under Emerald Recording Company.
Julie was a teen actress starred in Philippine Drama Series Annaliza in ‘80s. She did several movies and won acting awards. But showbiz mourned in 1985 when she died at a very young and at the peak of her career. She was 16.
“Somewhere in My Past” is very special to Mon del Rosario who composed this 1985 hit.
There was a revival made by Divo Bayer in 2004, as it was included in his album A Better Me.
Now, Mon is in search of the voice that fits the song. There were demo tapes sent to him but he has not yet found what he is looking for — that sweet, soothing, and distinct voice similar to Julie Vega.
