Witness different facets of life through the diverse perspectives of today’s youth, a generation commonly boxed in misconceptions and stereotypes, in Yugto, a duo of theatrical plays which tackle the diverse stages, challenges, and circumstances on the young.

Through these two one-act-plays, Maiba 18 Productions, a community of Theater Arts students from the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) School of Design and Arts (SDA), aims to empower the unseen, the unheard, and the misunderstood.

'Yugto' is a duo of theatrical plays tackling the diverse stages, challenges, and circumstances on the young.

Swipe Right, Siz, narrates the stories of fresh graduates and best friends Cynthia, an account executive in an advertising agency, and Jasmine, a freelance photographer, as they reveal their fear of the future over drinks, junk food, movies, and online dating apps and descend into the woes of relationships and existential crisis.

The play was written by Dominique La Victoria, a recipient for playwriting of the Loyola Schools Award for the Arts, and directed by experienced actor and artist-educator Jomar Carpeno.

Kublihan, shares the story of Julio, a freshman, and Mike, a senior student, as they reminisce the beginnings of their friendship, confess their hearts, and rebuild connections at their secret spot.

It was written by Jerome Ignacio, lauded for theater arts by the Loyola School Awards for the Arts and the director and consultant of Ateneo ENTABLADO and AJHS Teatro Baguntanao, and directed by Benilde Theater Arts student Kyle Confesor, who recently directed Alberto Florentino’s Cadaver as a political commentary.

Yugto is open to the public from Wednesday to Friday, March 11 to March 13, with shows at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., and on Saturday, March 14, at 5:00 p.m..

Shows will be held at the SDA Theater, 5th Floor, School of Design and Arts Campus, 950 Pablo Ocampo (Vito Cruz) Street, Malate, Manila.

Tickets are priced at P200 for regular viewers, P160 for non-Benildean students, persons with disabilities (PWD), and senior citizens, and P150 for Benildeans.
