Korean idol Jungkook, one of the members of the K-pop powerhouse BTS, took to his social media account to share his New Year’s message with his fans.
On Wednesday, Jan. 8, Jungkook took the time to take a break from his military duties and went to fan community platform Weverse, expressing his anticipation of reuniting with ARMY following his military service.
“I’m a bit late with my New Year’s greetings. This is the year of discharge, and also the year we meet, ARMY. But it doesn’t feel like there’s a big change in my heart. As always, I just have a heart full of wanting to see you,” he wrote.
Reflecting on his time in the military, Jungkook expressed a desire to grow for the sake of his fans.
“If there’s something I want to hurry up and do, it’s spending time learning a variety of things and dedicating myself to growth for ARMY,” Jungkook continued.
“Time seems to pass quickly. I wish it would move even faster. I miss you so much that it feels a bit overwhelming,” he added.
He also conveyed warm wishes for his fans’ well-being.
“I hope you all receive lots of blessings, and I wish tonight feels like the New Year hasn’t started off too badly for you. Even though people can’t avoid feeling pain, I hope you feel just a little less of it, even if only a tiny bit,” the “Seven” hitmaker stated.
Jungkook enlisted in December 2023 alongside fellow BTS member Jimin and is currently serving as a cook in the Army’s 5th Infantry Division.
All seven members, including Suga, RM, and V—of BTS are expected to complete their military service by 2025, and reportedly with plans of having their world tour in 2026.
