In what can be viewed as Pepito Manaloto’s biggest success, since the earliest days of the family sitcom, it has been winning the hearts of its viewers, striking the right chord with its audience by giving them a dose of comedy and some right amount of life lessons, too.

Through its well-rounded and value-laden plot and characters with whom viewers can easily resonate, the show has earned the nods of various award-winning bodies during its decade-long run.

Speaking to Manila Standard Entertainment, Michael V and Manilyn Reynes, who play the lead roles Pepito and Elsa, shared that for almost a decade, they could no longer keep track with the awards and accolades received by the show.

“We’ve been on air for 11 years now and we’re happy that we, the people behind and in front of the camera are being recognized. Every award matters kasi bunga yun ng pinaghirapan namin,” Manilyn said.

“Whenever I win the heart of another viewer, for me that’s the best award that we could get. We owe it to our audience that’s why we are thankful to them. They are the reason why we are still here,” Michael V, who also acts as the creative director of the sitcom, said.

“Our objective really ay tapatan ang John En Marsha, mataas ang pangarap di ba? But the show was really inspired by Dolphy’s epic  sitcom, that’s really our dream. We’re happy to last this long. Sa amin sulit na ‘to,” the comedian added.

After several months of fun-filled and heartwarming stories, GMA Network's well-loved family sitcom Pepito Manaloto: Kuwento, Kuwento is airing its season finale this Saturday.

Michael V. shares the greatest value that the show wishes for the viewers to reflect on, "The core of Pepito Manaloto, 'yung personality niya at ng pamilya niya, hindi nagbago. Kumbaga pusong mahirap pa rin sila. Marunong silang mag-value ng mga tao at bagay and at the same time, alam nila 'yung meaning ng totoong pamilya.”
