Navigating motherhood in the middle of pandemic

Andi Manzano, a former radio DJ, model, actress, host, and now an entrepreneur, is the kind of mom that tells her children that it’s okay to get bored, and given the situation that we are in, it’s fine if you are doing nothing.

Speaking to Manila Standard Entertainment, Andi shared that it’s during boredom when a child’s imagination soar.

“My kids are very active, and I can’t be with them all the time because I also work. So, I tell them that it’s okay to get bored.  When children get bored that’s when they get creative. One minute you see them holding a box, the other minute you see them painting that box,” Andi shared.

This month, as we celebrate our mother – the light of our homes that provides unconditional love and nurturing, and the person who will do everything for their family – PLDT Home gathers Andi Manzano, Camille Co, and Marie Lozano to talk about challenges in raising a family, especially now as the world continues to face a pandemic. Each of them is featured in a video series available on YouTube.

For her part, Andi, who was a radio DJ for 10 years, while also working as a model and host, her parenting style has changed a lot. According to her, even if she’s a working mom, she is prioritizing taking care of her two children, Olivia and Amelia.

In a new video series featuring the former DJ, PLDT Home reveals the most pressing issues that many parents face today and calls on families to speak up, connect, and celebrate each other’s uniqueness.

While pandemic parenting has been tough, the solid support system of her loved ones helped her get through and overcome parent guilt.

“Stop second-guessing yourself, go by it daily and be focused. I’m thankful for the support system I have at home: the whole pandemic has made me realize the core people I need in my life,” she admitted.

The video series underscores that when it comes to parenting style, the one-size-fits-all mantra doesn’t apply. And to honor parents for their relentless efforts and unique ways to raise their children the best way they can, PLDT Home fosters a movement that inspires them to embrace their own parenting styles and support one another to do the same.
