Gold Squad reunited in upcoming inspiration drama

At the digital press launch of ABS-CBN’s “biggest drama” this year, the event host noted that the media company, amid the pandemic and network shutdown, made sure that The Gold Squad members Seth Fedelin, Kyle Echarri, Francine Diaz, and Andrea Brillantes would be taken care of, that the four teen stars would still have projects on their laps no matter what happens.

And with that, these teen multimedia celebrities could not thank their mother studio enough for ensuring their welfare as Kapamilya talents.

“I’m thankful to all the people who had given me their support. I was worried after Kadenang Ginto bid television goodbye. I thought I wouldn’t be given any projects after that. But they took care of me, they are taking care of me,” Seth shared in Tagalog.

“We, The Gold Squad, are also working hard and doing our best to meet the expectations of the people who gave us the opportunity to entertain our audience,” he added.

After ‘Kadenang Ginto,’ The Gold Squad members Seth Fedelin, Andrea Brillantes, Francine Diaz, and Kyle Echarri reunite in inspirational drama ‘Huwag Kang Mangamba.’

The rest were equally thankful for every opportunity that lands on their doorsteps including the latest drama, Huwag Kang Mangamba, which they are headlining.

“It’s such a big blessing,” said Kyle. “We are not just thankful to Dreamscape and ABS-CBN, we are also thankful to God. He put us in this position and we are very excited for the future.”

“We have improved a lot from Kadenang Ginto and now in Huwag Kang Mangamba. Because of the projects that they give us, we learn a lot from the people we work with and we are able to hone our craft,” added Francine.

Andrea is grateful for the trust that ABS-CBN gives them.

“After our first drama series as The Gold Squad, there were projects already lined up for us. But because of the network shutdown and the pandemic, we kind of understood that some of them were put on hold. So, I’m really surprised that we are doing this project. Nangamba ako sa umpisa pero nandoon pa rin yung  tiwala ko sa ABS na hindi talaga kami pababayaan,” shared Andrea.

The newest inspirational series that The Gold Squad is headlining premieres on March 20 on iWantTFC and on March 22 on Kapamilya Channel, TV5, A2Z, and Kapamilya Online Live.

In the series, Andrea plays Mira, a blind orphan whose faith and trust in Bro gives her a positive outlook in life. Despite her situation, Mira travels to the town of Hermoso to search for her mother. Joy (Francine), on the other hand, is a rebellious daughter who has completely lost faith in God due to her personal pains and longing for her family’s love.

The two cross paths when Joy accidentally runs over Mira after running away from her family. Both of them escape death and are immediately brought back to life by a miracle caused by Bro in order for them to fulfill His mission of rebuilding the church in Hermoso.

As Mira and Joy try to settle their differences and work together, they will also have to restore the people’s faith in Bro since they refuse to believe in Him after experiencing endless hardships in their town.

At the same time, Joy’s aunt Deborah (Eula Valdes), who is a prominent faith healer with a cult following, will add to the delusions and false hopes of Hermoso by claiming that she is the one who miraculously healed Joy.

Seasoned actress Sylvia Sanchez joins The Gold Squad in ‘Huwag Kang Mangamba’ playing yet another challenging role.

Apart from The Gold Squad, the powerhouse cast also includes Sylvia Sanchez, Nonie Buencamino, Mylene Dizon, RK Bagatsing, Dominic Ochoa, Diether Ocampo, Enchong Dee, Angeline Quinto, Matet De Leon, Soliman Cruz, Mercedes Cabral, Paolo Gumabao, and Alyanna Angeles.

Created by Rondel Lindayag and Danica Domingo, under the direction of Emmanuel Q. Palo, Jerry Lopez Sineneng, and Darnel Villaflor, Huwag Kang Mangamba ABS-CBN’s latest inspirational offering following May Bukas Pa, Starla, and 100 Days to Heaven.

Angeline also recorded the series’ theme song of the same title, penned by Fr. Manoling V. Francisco, SJ.

Viewers will be able to catch the pilot episode on March 20 on the iWantTFC app and website, and on March 22 at 8:40 p.m. after FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano on TV5 and A2Z channel on free TV and via digital TV boxes like ABS-CBN TVplus.
