Why Sunshine’s daughters are using Cruz as surname

For the first time, Sunshine Cruz and her daughters Angelina, Samantha and Chesca have appeared in public to be the faces of a direct marketing company. The screen star and her daughters, who have been following in their mother’s footsteps, were all chosen to endorse health and wellness products.

One of the scribes present at the launch noticed that the offsprings of Sunshine and former husband Cesar Montano were all introduced with Cruz as their surname. Thus, the writer asked if the three teenagers are not in good terms with their father.

“Of course, they have a good relationship with their father,” Sunshine clarified and explained that it was the idea of their manager Arnold Vegafria.

“They are more into singing, so we all know that the Cruzes are known musicians so we thought it would be better if they used Cruz as surname since they all want to be music artists,” she added.

The 42-year-old star maintained that in pursuing careers in show business, it’s logical for her daughters to use Cruz for their screen names.

Her daughter Angelina, 18, had the same sentiments.

“I feel that the screen name could actually help cause I feel that everyone in the industry has one so since our name is Cruz,” she said. “Like Tita Donna Cruz, it’s really Cruzes are musically inclined so I feel that it could help us but it’s not our real name it’s not legally changed or anything, it’s just a screen name.”

Meanwhile, Sunshine shared that Cesar was made aware of this decision.

“We met in Las Vegas and he said, ‘It’s okay, anak ko pa rin ‘yan, dugo ko pa rin ‘yan.’ It’s just a screen name’,” Sunshine said.
