When AiAi de las Alas was looking for a songwriter who could pen the hit song that she most badly want (“Gusto ko naman kasing magka-gold record…kahit wala na yata ngayon yan ngayon,” she confessed) someone told him to meet a group of guys that she would later know as the Ex-Battalion.
During the meeting, De las Alas and the group made an agreement. The boys will write a song and AiAi would record it. Not only that, the group also asked her to be their manager. As the cliché goes, the rest is history.
De las Alas has the song, and Ex-Battalian has their manager.
A press conference held in Le Reve Pool and Events Venue in Quezon City two Friday ago, De las Alas officially announced a partnership among her, Viva Entertainment, and Ex Battalion (Ex B).
This partnership, also known as #VivAiEx for Viva, Ai Ai, and Ex B, will take the boys of Ex Battalion to greater heights in the entertainment industry and enhance their career.
Being known for their music and contributions to the local rap scene, the members of Ex B namely, Bossx1ne, Emcee Rhenn, King Badger, Skusta Clee, James Brando, and Flow G, are lined up for a lot of festivities this year, with a concert being one of them. Not only that, but they are expected to make their acting debut in an upcoming Viva Films movie along with their manager.
De las Alas has agreed to top bill a movie for Viva Films and she has brought along as co-stars her the Ex Battalion. The film is set to start filming in July. Mel del Rosario will write it with Dado Lomibao directing.
The movie marks the return of Ai Ai to Viva Films where she made her early appearances while a struggling young actress. Since then she has become the country’s leading comedienne on television and on the big screen with landmark box-office hits like Ang Tanging Ina, Sisterakas, My Bebe Love and others.
She ventured into a new side of the entertainment business early this year when she became the manager of Ex Battalion.
Meanwhile, the members of Ex B will be getting ready for their first major concert to be produced by Viva.
