The week before Holy Week, Alden Richards, the actor everyone in the biz calls as the Pambansang Bae (whatever that means) met members of the press at a small joint a stone’s throw away from his mother studio, GMA Network. He was met by Cookie Yatco and his wife Joy Abalos-Yatco.

The couple introduced Richards as Cookie’s Peanut Butter’s first brand ambassador.

Richards said he has known about the peanut butter even before the Yatco’s made him an offer to be the face of the brand.

“I have tried it even before they manufactured it in commercial quantities. I liked it,”

he told members of the press.

Joy prepared the peanut butter in her own kitchen as a special gift to family and close friends especially during the holidays. It became an instant hit among their friends. So, Joy and Cookie decided to distribute the product commercially in order to share it with other consumers and also to provide long-term jobs to a lot of people.

Currently, the brand’s flagship products include Cookie’s Peanut Butter, Cookie’s Cashew Butter, and Cookie’s Peanut Butter Pangluto as well as Mani Ni Cookie and Kasuy Ni Cookie.

Meanwhile, with a very active lifestyle as one of the country’s busiest and biggest young stars, it is very important for Alden to be fit and healthy. He is seen daily as one of the hosts of the top-rating noontime variety show Eat Bulaga, is currently preparing for a brand new primetime TV series, and busy with non-stop showbiz commitments. To stay in his best shape, Alden works out regularly and is also currently doing intermittent fasting where fasts for several hours a day interspersed with eating whatever he wants for a limited number of hours in a day.

Cookie’s Peanut Butter is a perfect food choice for Alden as it is both rich in nutrients and very yummy at the same time. “I love Cookie’s Peanut Butter. It’s so delicious and a very good source of protein, which keeps me strong and energized every day. I eat it anytime – as part of my breakfast or as an in-between snack,” says Alden. “I am so happy to be part of the Cookie’s Peanut Butter family.

“Cookie’s Peanut Butter is a wholesome brand for the whole family to enjoy,” says Cookie Yatco. “Alden is the best celebrity to represent our brand because he is well-loved by millions of Filipinos because of his wholesome and positive image. It is such a joy and honor to work with him in this endeavor of ours.”

“I hope that Filipinos will love and enjoy Cookie’s Peanut Butter as this is a recipe that we gladly share to everyone with all of our hearts,” adds Joy Abalos-Yatco.

As part of Cookie’s Peanut Butter on-going series of mall tours, Alden will be at Megamall Event Center in SM Megamall on April 22.

Cookie’s Peanut Butter is available in groceries and supermarkets nationwide.

If you’re a true blue Kapuso follower, you must have seen The Stepdaughters, the new afternoon series that has been on your screens since Feb. 12. The Stepdaughters is a story of two women who are both beautiful and intelligent but with personalities that couldn’t be any more different. They have always been destined to be rivals and both of them aren’t ones to back away from a fight.

This drama stars Miss World 2013 Megan Young and Katrina Halili with Mikael Daez.

In the recent episodes Isabelle Salvador (Halili) failed to stop Mayumi Dela Rosa (Young) from attending her birthday celebration sending her to another scheming fit.

Francis Almeda (Daez) rescued Mayumi from being locked in as part of Isabelle’s plan to sabotage Mayumi’s birthday celebration.

Alos, Isabelle;s father Hernan (Gary Estrada) proposed to Luisa (Glydel Mercado) for them to get married in a church wedding, making Isabelle even more furious.

I don’t know when will Hernan finally tell Luisa that the wealth he and his family have now is actually hers.

But I don’t want to jump the gun, as everyone knows, the people in GMA’s drama group meander about the plot and keep everyone hanging in anticipation, especially if the series is getting good numbers in the ratings race.

So, you devoted Kapuso, have enough patience before the revelation happens, or perhaps it would soon as the show is now running for nearly two months.

Megan Young, Mikael Daez and Katrina Halili, starts of the daily drama, 'The Stepdaughters.'

For the third straight year, Globe wins at the Kidlat Awards this time for its unique execution of #PlayItRight’s “Piracy Vs. Piracy,” the company’s homegrown advocacy to encourage Filipinos to download or stream content from legitimate sources.

“Piracy Vs. Piracy” was recognized for three awards – Creative Use Of Media, Branded Corporate Social Responsibility and Digital Activation and Campaigns – at the Ad Summit Pilipinas 2018 on March 10, in Subic.

Tackling the issue of piracy head on, the campaign delivered its message by using the channels where piracy happens: torrent and streaming websites. During the 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival, Globe uploaded copies of the participating films and other blockbuster Filipino movies online.

After showing the opening credits and scenes, the films featured the crew recounting the hours of work they put in creating the films and appealing to viewers to #PlayItRight and watch from legitimate sources.

“Our customers deserve not just safe but also quality content. At the same time, we also want to make sure that our products and services are not used for illegal activities. These pursuits, along with our high regard for original content, inspired us to create this innovative campaign,” Yoly Crisanto, Globe senior vice president for Corporate Communications, points out.

“We also want to protect the copyright of our content partners and educate our customers on how to consume content properly. We have made it easier for them by giving them the platforms to watch the best movies, TV shows, music, and videos,” adds Nikko Acosta, Globe senior vice president for Content Business.

“Our execution hopes to highlight the impact of piracy to the people in the industry and their families. We want to remind everyone who participates in this illegal activity that their downloads affect hundreds of cast and crew members,” says Globe Studios Director Quark Henares.

Filmmakers themselves have chimed in their support for the anti-piracy campaign.

“We should protect the film industry from pirates. Without piracy, we keep our jobs, and convince creators to produce good content the audience would love to see,” JP Habac, director of I’m Drunk I Love You, says.

“This commitment by Globe to fight film piracy gives due credit to the money, sweat and tears that filmmakers have put into their projects. Every day, we get messages from our site to request for a free download of Respeto. (Talk about respect!) The campaign is also such a clever way to shame the shameless pirates from downloading films,” Monster Jimenez, producer of Respeto, adds.

The other films that lent their support to “Piracy vs. Piracy” were: All of You, Ang Larawan, Ang Manananggal sa Unit 23B, Baka Bukas, Birdshot, Heneral Luna, Ilawod  Siargao.

In February, the campaign was also recognized in the Direct Marketing category of BestAdsOnTV.com, an international website showcasing the best ads around the world.

The Kidlat Awards is an annual creative competition led by the 4A’s Philippines’ Creative Guild. It celebrates and recognizes the country’s best advertising work of the past year.

This year’s judges include some of the industry’s best from the top advertising agencies in the Philippines, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Singapore.

Previously, Globe and its partner agency Publicis JimenezBasic, were conferred Kidlat Awards for its campaigns for Globe Prepaid in 2016 and Globe Corporate Thematic in 2017.
