Undoubtedly, the Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano tandem is the biggest onscreen sweetheart to hit the screens this Valentine season. My Ex and Whys has breached the P200-million mark and it’s making Star Cinema executives and the film’s director Cathy Garcia-Molina doubly happy.

Molina is widely considered now a directing icon, particularly in the rom-com genre. My Ex And Whys is her very first film project with LizQuen tandem.

In the movie, Enrique and Liza play ex-couple Gio and Cali. Cali cannot move on after she learned that Gio cheated on her. They are reunited in an unexpected project that can bring them back together. Gio wants to prove that he is a changed man. Cali refuses to believe him initially, but when they travel to Korea for an event. Cali begins to doubt her feelings for Gio. She thinks she is falling all over again for Gio.

The next box office royalties? Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil's "My Ex and Whys" has grossed more than P200 million at the local tills.

My Ex And Whys is the first movie featuring  Enrique and Liza after the blockbuster hit Everyday I Love You in 2015. This is also their first project since the mammoth success of their top-rating primetime TV series Dolce Amore, aired on ABS-CBN last year.

Individually and as a pair, Enrique and Liza are two of the most influential young actors in the industry today. Both of them have multiple product endorsements. They are almost always featured in magazine covers and editorial spreads.

LizQuen has the unwavering support of countless fans that watch their TV shows and movies, not to say buy the products they endorse.

So, why is this movie faring better than the others of the same kind? The answer is simple. The film has a young perfect-looking tandem on screen – audiences fantasize about beautiful pairs on screen – throw in a simple love story set in picturesque sceneries and – presto! – the movie is a potential hit which it is.

My Ex And Whys is still screening in cinemas nationwide
