Fresh from his successful US tour, multi-awarded recording artist and world grand champion Jed Madela is set to perform for the much-awaited second installment of his concert series billed The Iconic Concert Series: Jed Madela Sings Celine at Music Museum on Aug. 19.

Directed by Marvin Caldito, the concert is a spin-off from Jed’s album Iconic under Star Music.

Jed Madela has proven himself as a great singer as he adds his own distinctive touch to the big songs of divas like Mariah Carey and Celine Dion

The former WCOPA (World Championships of Performing Arts) champion proved himself up the task when he took on the music of Mariah Carey for the series’ first installment on May 28.

“I chose to start this series off with Mariah because I find her songs really interesting. She’s an amazing storyteller. For me, Mariah is iconic not just because of her voice, but because she has influenced me so much in life through her music. Mariah’s stories are my stories,” shares Jed.

Jed admits that the show has brought its own set of challenges for him.

According to him, “The hardest part of putting this show together was making sure it doesn’t come across as forced and staged. Also, on my part, I have to come up with newer ways to interpret these iconic songs because people already have expectations. My version should be at par or better than the original.”

The Iconic Concert Series: Jed Madela Sings Celine is produced by Dreamstarevents and Calvin Chua.

“I really hope the next show will be more successful and more exciting, not just for the audience to watch, but also, for me to perform,” smiles Jed.

Tickets  available at Music Museum, SM Tickets, Ticketnet and Ticketworld.
